MONTRÉAL GAMES
Held for the first time in 1977 in the wake of the Montréal Summer Olympics, the Montréal Games are a large-scale sports event for young Montréal athletes between the ages of 6 and 12 registered in programs designed to introduce them to sports. These Games are above all a chance for them to compete for the first time in high-level facilities, learn the benefits of physical activity and develop sportsmanship.

From April 2 to April 6, 2008, close to 5,000 young Montrealers took part in the 31th edition of the Montréal Games.

Special Olympics Québec athletes aged 17 and up who reside on the island of Montréal are eligible to compete and have been included in this competition since 2002. They compete in three sports, namely track & field, figure skating and swimming.
